NICE Appraisal - Gastric Cancer

Wednesday, January 13, 2010

NICE are currently doing an appraisal of gastric cancer (advanced) - capecitabine and that topic is going to Committee on 18 March 2010. One way the patient view is included in the guidance is by Patient Experts attending Committee meetings.

Adam Reeves-Brown is working with Lizzie Amis, PPIP Project Manager for Technology Appraisals, on recruiting and selecting these Patient Experts. For this topic they currently have no nominations for Patient Experts, which can be patients, carers or patient advocates. Here are the details of the Committee meeting for which we are looking for two patient experts:

Date: 18 March 2010

Venue: NICE London (address below)

Time: tea/coffee 9.30 for 10.00 start (NB. we will reimburse travel expenses and can organise a hotel for the night before if needed due to the early start)

Topic: gastric cancer (advanced) - capecitabine

Duration: approx 2 hours

If you are interested in being a Patient Expert, please contact us, and we will send you some more information. Please let us know as soon as possible, as the deadline for nominations is 18th January.

As timelines are now tight, I’d be grateful if you could let me have any nominations by 4pm on 18 January 2010. I look forward to hearing from you.
