The following topics have been suggested for possible inclusion in the work programme of the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE):
- Gastric cancer (advanced) - capecitabine
- Glioma - nimotuzumab (adults and children)
- Renal cell carcinoma (metastatic first line and adjuvant) - sutent
- Head and neck, prostate, spine, liver cancer - helical tomotherapy
- Pancreatic cancer (advanced) - capecitabine
An independent panel, which includes patients and lay people, will consider these topics and score them against formal criteria to decide how important it is that NICE develops guidance on them in the future.
If you have experience of the use of these above treatments (e.g. as a patient or carer) and would like to give your views on whether NICE should develop guidance on this topic, please email forum@rarercancers.org.uk by midday, 24 October 2006. We will collate RCF responses and send them to NICE.
