Cancer treatments funded by PCT following exceptional requests

Since 01 October 2006, the PCT approved 31 patients' exceptional requests for cancer treatment.  The treatments funded were as follows:

• Pemetrexed (Alimta)
• Bevacizumab (Avastin)
• Alemtuzumab (Campath)
• Cetuximab + Folfox
• Dasatinib
• Trastuzumab (Herceptin) (outside NICE)
• IL-2
• Irinotecan/5FU
• Lenalidomide
• Sunitinib
• Erlotinib (Tarceva)

The PCT has approved requests for cancer treatments that have not been considered/approved by NICE or pre-NICE approval.

Cancer treatments not funded by PCT following exceptional requests

Since 02 October 2006, the following treatment were not funded by the PCT:

• Cetuximab
• Ibritumomab + rituximab
• Sorafenib
• Erlotinib (Tarceva)
